Rastafari - Words of Wisdom

The words on this page are some of my favorite lyrics and quotes of Bob Marley.

Bob had the ability to vocalise the natural wisdom of the country and transfer this 'one-ness' with the world, upon complex social topics such as poverty, injustice and and the divisions of mankind.

His words contained many references to the Bible and Jamaican cultural sayings and proverbs.

Bobs' words reflect his unwaivering faith in Rastafari and his belief in the rebels' fight against all systems and forms of downpression. Bob was a champion of the poor and all people suffering from mental, physical or religious repression.

If you have a particular favorate of your own, email it to me (with a reason, if you want), and I will put them up.

As this site is named after the 'Natural Mystic' song it's appropriate to include the lyrics for this haunting song:

There's a natural mystic
Blowing through the air
If you listen carefully now you will hear
This could be the first trumpet
Might as well be last
Many more will have to suffer
Many more will have to die
Don't ask me why
Things are not the way they used to be
I won't tell no lie
One and all got to face reality now

Though I try to find the answer
To all the questions they ask
Though I know it's impossible
To go living through the past
Don't tell no lie
There's a natural mystic
Blowing through the air
Can't keep them down
If you listen carefully now you will hear
Such a natural mystic
Blowing through the air
